Profile: Oil Skimmers, Inc. is a manufacturer of oil skimmer that specializes in recovering floating waste oils from water. Our oil skimmers can efficiently remove all petroleum-based oil, fats, greases and oily wastes as well as animal & vegetable oils that float on the surface of water. The oil skimmers model 6V oil recovery system removes animal, vegetable and petroleum-based oils, fats, greases & oily wastes that float on the surface of water. The unit removes as much as 100 gallons of waste oil per hour and decants it into a drum. The model 6V system is the dependable solution for removing oily wastes from process and environmental applications. 6V oil recovery system removes waste oil by means of a specially formulated collector tube. Oil adheres to the outside of the closed-loop tube as it is slowly drawn across the surface of the water and into the oil skimmer. The decanter is designed to permit minute droplets of water removed by the skimming system to be returned to the area being skimmed. The vapor hood unit is designed so the explosion proof electric motor is isolated from the skimming area and the VOC's. A vapor hood is also applicable to less hazardous locations where an enclosed skimming unit is desirable, such as busy factory locations, or outdoors in severe weather. With the vapor hood construction, the oil skimmer is completely enclosed but easily accessible for inspection and maintenance through an inspection window. There is a built in decanter, which provides relatively water free oil skimming.
