Profile: Omega Resistance Wire is a manufacturer of electrical resistance wires and nickel alloy wires for various applications. We have BS EN ISO 9001:2008 quality certification. We manufacture a range of stranded resistance wires which are used in the on-site heat treatment of pressure vessels and pipework. Our nickel chrome alloys have good electrical resistance properties, operating at temperatures up to 1200°C. This property coupled with high resistance to oxidation and chemical corrosion makes these alloys ideal for use as resistance wires in furnaces and heat treatment applications. Our resistors are an electric circuit component that implement electrical resistance as a circuit element, and protect other components that have a specific current rating. A low temperature co-efficient of resistance is important to ensure that the resistance changes minimally with increased temperature. We have wire wound resistors formed from winding fine Nichrome wire around a ceramic center. Our film resistors are formed from carbon or metal film deposited on a resistive base.
