Profile: Performance Filtration, Inc. is a distributor of OEM quality filtration products for compressors, industrial refrigeration, blowers and engines. We specialize in compressor filters, blower filters, vacuum pump filters, gas process filters, air process filters, refrigeration filters, coalescing filters and compressor lubricants. We provide filtration products for the off-road industry including heavy duty truck filters, mining industry filters, construction equipment filters and industrial engine filters. Air/oil separators for rotary screw & vane type air compressors provide filtration with a micron rating of 0.3. All particles passing through the air and lube oil filters, which are larger than 0.3 microns, will be trapped by the separator. Separators are constructed of a depth loading media, and have good dirt holding capabilities. Air filters present the first barrier of protection by stopping most wear causing particles from entering the unit. Rated usually between 10 and 40 microns, they take out the larger particles entering through the air stream. Materials normally used consist of paper or synthetic media, and are generally surface loading. (Contaminants adhere to the surface of the filter media). Oil filters present the second barrier of protection. These are usually rated at 10 to 20 microns. Filter material is also paper or synthetic, and can be surface loading or depth loading. (Contaminants enter the filter media and are trapped within the depth of the media, rather than only on the surface.)
