Description: To determine the three-dimensional form of an object without contact photogrammetry is used. To do this, parts to be measured, which are provided with reference marks and/or feature targets, are photographed from different angles. Part geometry is then determined by layering digital photographs onto one another. Conventionally, the feature targets are stuck directly onto parts. They can only be removed with difficulty, are not reusable and leave marks, which lead to loss of quality, in particular, on painted surfaces. Witte Far East Pte Ltd, Singapore, is offering an accessory for tapes, which enables reusability of the feature targets and leaves no marks on the parts. The newly developed range of measuring accessories Fixinspect feature targets comprises adapters, which offer a surface for mounting tapes and are equipped underneath with a sucker for positioning on parts. This allows the feature targets to be positioned on parts and removed again easily. For use on smooth or curved surfaces accessories with a suction cup and three point contact are available. The spring-loaded sucker with bayonet lock enables careful treatment of parts in the extended condition and in lowered position ensures accurate positioning of tapes at a defined distance from the part surface. Fixinspect feature target accessories are available in round, semicircular and cube shapes. There are spring-loaded, self-centring, magnetic feature target accessories available for positioning over holes.
