Piloted Spindle tapping is used for threading a drilled hole manually at one machine location, without moving the workpiece. During tapping operations, the spindle of the drill press serves as a support for the guide post of this tool. It may also be utilized to raise or lower the tap or to hold it in a lifted position while the work is shifted and centered.
