Pneumatic Rack & Pinion Actuators
Pneumatic rack and pinion actuators are offered by DelVal Flow Controls (a division of DelTech Controls LLC, USA). These are constructed of a dual rack and pinion, opposed piston, symmetrical mounting and pneumatic valve actuators for quarter turn valve automation. The torque output range (@ 5.5 bar input pressure) includes double acting 1900 Nm (16885 lb-in) and single acting 526 Nm (4652 lb-in). Temperature range: For Buna C sealing the temperature ranges from 30°C to +100°C maximum, for Viton sealing, it is 20°C to +200°C maximum and for silicon sealing, it ranges from 50°C to +180°C maximum. Standard material options: body is made of hard anodised, extruded aluminium, end caps are made of pressure die cast aluminium, the pistons are of pressure die cast aluminium and the shafts are made of high strength alloy steel ENP. The springs are DIN 17223-2 VD Si Cr with epoxy coating and fasteners are made of stainless steel. Key Features: two independent external travel stops to permit easy and precise adjustment of 5 degrees in open and close directions, travel stop screws are located on the body, outside the pressure chamber, to prevent accidental blowout of the bolts during adjustment, modular pre-loaded spring cartridges for safe and easy conversion from double acting to spring return at site, with the same end-caps. The wide actuator base design can be adapted to mount different valve makes requiring wider than EN ISO 5211 drilling and the unique manufacturing technique of the TorgDrive shaft to accommodate various valve stem configurations like double D, diagonal square and parallel square. Accessories like solenoid valves can be direct mounted with the NAMUR interfacing and valve position controllers and indicators can be mounted with the VDI/VDE 3845 interfacing.
