Our hydrophilic foams are soft, conformable, strong when wet, non toxic and can absorb up to 20 times their own weight in liquid. Foams from 1.5mm to 5.0mm are frequently used to manufacture island wound dressings. Thicker foams combined with a polyurethane film, are often used to manufacture borderless wound dressings. The fundamental properties of hydrophilic foams means that they gently expand to absorb wound exudate, whilst maintaining the wound in a moist environment to promote wound healing.
