Description: Power saver is a waveform profile corrector and dynamic line voltage conditioner, along with a dynamic near unity power factor corrector. It is an intelligent unit incorporating a micro controller with built-in software and hardware features to continuously optimise and adjust the power transfer to the load as per its requirements. A low loss variable reactance and a variable capacitor provide the correct matching impedance for the load circuit thereby improving the efficiency in the transfer of power. A combined voltage profile correction and localised dynamic capacitive compensation results in an overall loss reduction in the circuit and this gives substantial power savings. The units are available in single-phase version or in three-phase version depending upon the type of load. Technical features include an intelligent micro controller with built-in software program, adjustment of the system impedances by switching in appropriate inductances and capacitances into the circuit using high break and make relays (solid state relays - optional), and provision for manual operations. The inductances and capacitances are switched in such a manner that there will be good current reduction in the input to the equipment. The equipment has series and shunt connected elements and hence are rated for the load currents. In the series circuit protection is through adequately rated MCBs on the line.
