Description: Ram drain valves are so designed that it cannot clog. Rodding of the tank is never necessary. The basic drain valve design includes a piston often referred to as a ram that extends into the vessel outlet to prevent accumulation of process material. Arsen ram type drain valves are ideal for use in liquid or gas services and with slurries or high viscosity fluids that solidify at room temperature. In addition, solids and powders that are pressurized and will flow, are well suited for the ram type valve. Regarding benefits: no clogging - the piston retracts into the bonnet allowing full flow. The piston can also be extended into the vessel to dislodge any accumulated sludge or buildup at the bottom of the vessel. No leaking - stationary seals automatically clean the piston. The uniform piston diameter along its entire length provides outstanding sealing and long life. No mis-alignment - the body is a single integral casting with no welded flanges. The cast bonnet and precision machining ensure perfect alignment by piloting the piston in the body and throughout piston extension length. Extra protection - the enclosed bonnet protects the piston when in open position. Open bonnets allow debris to score the piston while it is retracted causing a possible leak. Dependability - Arsen drain valves are manufactured in accordance with ANSI B 16.34 standards and are 100% leak tested prior to dispatch.
