Reciprocating Saws have long straight profiles and long straight blades. They can cut through a double top plate, down between the header & king stud and out through the jack stud, nails and all without trashing the blade. The blades are quickly changed and come in a wide selection of lengths and design to cut a variety of materials. These saws are available with a variety of features, including single speed, dual speed & variable speed, elliptical or fixed-blade cutting action and fixed or detachable power cord. Reciprocating saws are powered by an electric or battery motor that rapidly pulls a saw blade back and forth. These saws are most commonly used to cut metal during vehicle extrication.
