Shaft collars are offered in multiple styles to fit shafts ranging from 1/8" to 6" in the inch series and 3mm to 80mm in the metric series, in a variety of materials and finishes. Different types of shaft collars are one piece clamp style collars, two-piece clamp style collars, one and two-piece threaded collars, and set screw collars. Couplings are available in various forms as rigid shaft couplings, flexible beam couplings, bellows couplings, oldham couplings, zero backlash jaw couplings, and disc couplings. Rigid shaft couplings are available in one and two-piece designs, with and without keyways, in aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel. The benefits of rigid couplings include their economy, high torque capacity, and zero-backlash. They are suitable for applications when misalignment is neither present nor desired, including connecting line-shafting and attaching a motor to a gearbox. Rigid couplings are increasingly being used in precision motion control applications with properly aligned components. The flexible beam 2 couplings are designed specifically for precision applications, especially those that use delicate components such as encoders and tachometers. Bellows couplings combine stainless steel bellows and aluminum hubs to offer superior performance in motion control applications. Oldham couplings are ideal for many motion control applications. Oldham couplings also have the advantages of electrical isolation, low inertia and a balanced design for higher rpm applications. Zero backlash jaw couplings are three piece couplings comprised of two hubs and an elastic element. Miniature disc couplings are the newest addition to our expanding line of motion control couplings. The couplings are an assembly of two anodized aluminum hubs, multiple flat stainless steel disc springs and a center spacer for double disc styles.
