Profile: Samuel Kent Baker, Inc. sells sawmill and pallet shop equipment. Our product line includes blockhead thin kerf band resaws, chop saws, notchers and material handling equipment. Our blockhead band resaw is a solidly-built resaw and it is constructed of heavy-wall tube steel. In this, the auto-return system kicks off just behind the first head on the standard unit and comes back directly to the front operator. We offer a high production block cutter. This horizontal version cuts material into blocks in one pass. We have designed several different horizontal block cutters for various applications. In our single head notchers, the notch depth is set by moving adjustable brackets on each side of the head. The distance of the notch from the end of the stringer is adjusted using the bracket on the left hand side of the machine. The stringer is inserted into a pivotable clamp and is then moved into the head. Our conveyors are specially designed for the wood products industry. They come in two basic versions that include flat top conveyors and pan type conveyors. The standard conveyors come in 5' or 10' sections which can be combined for longer lengths. Our chop saw is a high quality manual chop saw that can be adapted to many applications.
