3300 InsertGage, a new type of sensor with a strain gauge, for level control in silos. It is very compact (?19 mm x 26 mm length), made of stainless steel and is fully airtight. Its user-friendliness and ease of installation distinguish it from conventional load cells. Its advantage is that it can be installed into the structure straight away, without having to take the structure apart. A simple hole is enough to insert the load cell into the metallic structure that is being studied. Along with an appropriate signal conditioner, the InsertGage can be calibrated for reading loads or strains. The most important feature is that the InsertGage measures the stress, not the force.
