Profile: Signature Control Systems specializes in providing control engineering products. SmartTrac® process control system mounts the sensors directly into production molds, the system is able to monitor the chemical and physical changes occurring in the molding process in real time. Changes in impedance are used to generate a signatures data curve, which is unique to the specific compound being molded. The signatures control processor applies software algorithms that use these signatures to determine the optimal cure point for each press cycle to predict the optimal cure point. Our 3/4 inch in-mold sensors (IMS) are specifically designed for molding and curing operations. Typical applications include injection, compression, transfer molded rubber, and compression molding of sheet & bulk molding compounds & other reinforced composites. The IMS sensors are rated for high temperature (450°F / 232°C) and high-pressure (40,000 psi) operation. The sensors are flush-mounted in the mold and use the opposite side of the mold to complete the sensor circuit.
