Description: Slugger Cutters are used to cut only the periphery of the hole, ejecting the remaining centre as a slug. These cutters produce reamed quality burr-free holes of any diameter in one operation, eliminating costly pilot holes and step drilling. The holes on curved surfaces and interrupted cuts are easily produced without distortion. The standard cutters are available in HSS M2 grade. The cutters can be supplied with titanium nitride (TINI) coating or titanium carbonitride coating. The TINI coating improves the tool life by increasing surface hardness and provides greater lubricity. The TICN coated cutters are used specially for drilling highly abrasive or gummy materials such as brass and aluminum alloys. The M42 cobalt steel cutters are effective when drilling materials of inconsistent composition. They are also valuable when increased feed rates are required.
