Speed Reducers

Description: Speed Reducers are manufactured in different types and sizes and ratio in adopter types, as well as in solid foot-mounted type & vertical flange mounted type of industrial requirement. These are robust, efficient and reliable due to standard design & construction. Grandson speed reducers are available in a range from 28.60mm to 431.80mm (1.118″ to 17″) centre distance with ratio of 5:1 to 70:1 of reductions. We also offer to fulfil specific requirements on request. Construction details: the gear housing is made of close grain cast iron material with maximum cooling fins on both sides with maximum surface are covered to atmosphere for improved efficiency. Bearing housing is perfectly bored to achieve proper alignment. The housing is totally dust proof and oil tight. The worm wheel is made of cast phosphorous bronze, on centre cast iron boss, which is pressed and keyed on the ground & polished highgraded alloy steel made shaft which can permit high torque & bending load. The teeth of the worm wheel are accurately bobbed on a gear bobbing machine specially made as worm diameter bobbed cutter. The worm is solid with a shaft of single piece design made of high-graded alloy steel, accurately generated, hardened & ground. The worm and worm wheel shaft are supported on ball or roller bearings of standard make of ample capacity to take rotating & thrust load. Oil seals of quality are used to ensure oiltight fitting. Specification: Grandson make speed reducers totally conform to (IS 3734-1966 for worm gearing) IS and BS standards wherever applicable (BS 721:1963 worm gearing).
