Description: Heavy duty spline rolling machine uses the force-feeding principle, mainly to roll axles, differential pinions, torsion bars and can roll up to 2.5 module splines and in some cases, the production time is 1/10th that of hobbing time and the finish obtained is a very high quality burnish finish. There are two slides carrying the roll shafts towards the centre and they move on high precision hard chrome plated guide rods and lubricated ultra bronze bushes. This design is for longer life and accuracy over a longer period. Specially designed hydraulic cylinders are used to develop the maximum pressure of 40 tons for rolling higher capacity splines. The standard machine can accommodate up to 1.1 metre long components and has a swing capacity of 180 mm. The job is forced into the spline rolling dies by a hydraulic force-feeding arrangement. This feed rate can be infinitely varied for maximum production. The roll shafts are driven through a planetary gearbox and the speed of the motor is controlled with the help of a highly sophisticated Toshiba inverter. The roll shaft's speed can be varied infinitely. The entire cycle of operation is controlled by a Toshiba PLC to get the most reliable automatic cycle.
