Helical compression springs are used in automotive engines, large stamping presses, major appliances and lawn mowers. They offer resistance to linear compressing forces. They are manufactured from round wire and in a cylindrical shape. Die springs or high force compression springs are available in four duty ranges with sizes ranging from 3/8 inches OD ( 10mm ) to 2 inches OD (50 mm ) and lengths from one inch to 12 inches.
