Profile: Tata Sponge Iron Ltd. is a producer of sponge iron. Our sponge iron process making aims to remove oxygen from iron ore. We use raw materials for the production of sponge iron, such as iron ore, non-coking coal and dolomite. We use iron ore for production of sponge iron, which is reduced in solid state. We also use dolomite, which acts in the process as a desulphuriser, removing sulphur from feed mix during the reduction process.
