Cables can be protected from water ingress in two ways: longitudinal and radical blocking. Petrogel is used to fill all the spaces within the cable. This gel is also used to close the leakage in the pathways. SAF based cable yarns and tapes are used to prevent the passage of water along the cables. This provides the total active system. In packaging, absorbent technology is used to pack fresh and perishable goods for transportation. This can also be used in diagnostic packaging to soak up the leakages occur in storage and transit.
