Profile: Technical Metals Limited designs and manufactures automated systems and power instrumentation equipment. We are in the process of offering hard anodizing as a surface finish. Anodizing is an electrochemical process used to produce durable and decorative finishes on components made from aluminum. This is achieved by applying direct current through a suitable electrolyte (dilute sulfuric acid), in which the aluminum is the anode and a suitable material (eg; lead) is the cathode. Surface finishes include natural anodizing, black anodizing, bright anodizing, bead blasting, brushing, clear chemical film and chromate conversion.
