Thermo-Cool Chillers/Ammonia-Vapour Absorption Chiller
Description: Ammonia-vapour absorption chiller is an unique refrigeration technology that works with steam or hot oil. It is based on heat instead of electricity. The compressor in vapour compression refrigeration (VCR) system is replaced by thermal compressor made of an absorber, a solution pump, the generator and rectifier. Water is added into a cycle to assist suction and discharge of refrigerant by cooling and heating and with ammonia as refrigerant sub zero temperature is possible. This system does not have any complicated maintenance-prone machinery like mechanical compressor, big sized motor and MCC panel but only has a pump of very small size consuming only 10% of power of a furnace oil being viscous, the flow is poor which makes its compulsory to preheat it up to the atomising temperature so as to achieve optimum combustion, mechanical chiller. Moreover, it can be operated as chiller (+5?) and brine plant (sub-zero temperature) by increasing the temperature of heat input with almost same plant capacity unlike mechanical chillers whose capacity reduces by 50% if converted from chilled water to brine plant. Because of extremely low maintenance and power requirement, along with versatile operation (above zero or sub-zero) this system is very much suitable for small- and medium-sized businesses and industries.
