The machine ram is therefore a fully controlled axis with the characteristics and flexibility of an electrical axis, which has great precision, full control and programmability. The power that the Eletek system can supply is considerable and allows for the use of the machine not only on reduced thickness but also on thick sheets as well. The advantages of the Eletek technology are their ecological and economical characteristics. In fact, the removal of the hydraulic unit eliminates all problems related to the periodical waste of a large quantity of polluting material (oil) and the extremely low power requirement, which is of about 3 kW/h at full power, considerably reduces the machining cost and the requirement of the installed power.
