Our Duralum® AB alumina bubble, is an electric arc furnace product made from purity bayer process alumina and the product chemistry similar to that of white aluminum oxide. Alumina bubbles are formed from molten alumina, resulting in hollow spheres of low bulk density. Our emerundum is a dense, non porous fine grained aggregate produced from naturally occurring emery ore that is rich in aluminum oxide. Emery is an intimate mix of corundum, a natural form of aluminum oxide, and magnetite.
