Water activity (Aw) is defined as the measure of free water in a product. EEIPL offers an instrument for direct measurement of AN value in pharmacy, cosmetic and food products. Model LabMaster is a stand-alone laboratory instrument to measure Aw value accurately and quickly in any of the above products in granular, powder, tablet, gels form and creams at a predetermined temperature (usually at 25°C). It includes a preconditioning chamber for quick second sample measurement. It is easy to use, has user-id with password protection for multipl: users, external printer connection and interface to connect to computer. It has excellent reproducibility and is calibrated using traceable salt standards for relative humidity. Protective filters are available to protect the sensor from volatile alcohol vapours.
