Profile: Wavelength Electronics, Inc. is a manufacturer of laser diodes and thermal control devices. Our product line includes laser diode drivers, temperature controllers and accessories. Our FL500 is ideal for driving low power laser diodes where low noise is critical. The low leakage current (150 µA) makes it ideal for driving most VCSELs. It operates from 3 to 12 V, so it is compatible with Li+ battery operation. It can be configured as two totally independent 250 mA drivers or a single 500 mA driver. It is compatible with type A or B laser diodes. It is small size and low noise, it is often used in handheld devices and spectroscopy systems. The base unit operates in constant current (CC) mode. The only external components required are a power supply, an analog control voltage, laser and optional filtering circuitry. Our HTC1500 drives up to 1.5 A for either thermoelectrics (bipolar) or resistive heaters (unipolar). The HTC3000 drives up to ±3 A. The HTC temperature controllers are easily configured for any design. It virtually any type of temperature sensor can be used with the HTC and a built in sensor bias current source simplifies use with resistive temperature sensors. The independently adjustable proportional gain (P) and integrator time constant (I) can be modified to optimize temperature overshoot and stability. It is featured with added flexibility. The single resistor sets the maximum output current to load. The diodes to operate resistive heaters with a unipolar output current.
