Profile: Whertec, Inc is specialized in providing thermal coatings to protect metal substrates against erosion and corrosion for companies who have boilers and pressurized vessels. We use different technologies to apply our thermal spray coatings. Each method provides a coating with different characteristics and properties. Coatings applied by the HVOF process exhibit density, hardness and bond strength characteristics that can significantly outperform other methods of application. The HVOF uses a small combustion chamber to generate extreme (supersonic) exhaust gas velocities. The technology is used for the application of high performance coatings such as tungsten carbide, chrome carbide, superalloys, and intermetallic materials. The low porosity, denser coatings provide more protection. Arc spray technology is used for the application of corrosion and wear resistant coatings of nickel chrome, inconel, hastalloy, and stainless steel materials. W750 is a ceramic coating for metals. It is pore free and can be both chemically and mechanically bonded to the metal substrate. The coating forms an abrasion and corrosion resistant surface that is non-reactive, non-wetting, and thermal shock resistant. This coating technology has been proven in circulating fluidized bed boilers, pulverized coal fired boilers, waste to energy boilers, and waste heat units to retard erosion and corrosion. An added benefit of the coating, due to the bright green coloring, is the ability to quickly visually inspect an area and to determine any high wear problem areas.
