Description: Wire rope overload protector is a simple self-contained unit, designed and engineered to monitor the rope load on continuous basis and will meet any outdoor site condition. It is most ideal for overload protection of wire ropes, installed in cranes, transmission towers, passenger lifts and winches. The unit accurately monitors any overload in the wire rope with regard to set parameter and controls the same by providing necessary electrical relay output for tripping the drive and visual indication. The unit is virtually maintenance free and excels over conventional system in terms of installed cost. Salient features include requiring no modification in existing system, can be fitted by any technician, designed to meet outdoor conditions and occupies very less headroom. Applications are in all types of cranes, passenger lifts, wire rope winch, transmission tower and marine applications. Installed in-line on a typical winch assembly or any wire rope, the main purpose of the unit is to restrict the rope tension within set permissible limit. The unit is robust in construction and utilises three point contact theory for exact transmission of rope tension, on the overload unit, which houses a pre-loaded elastic assembly to keep the rope in desired position under normal operation. In event of overload necessary precision limit switches (1N0 + INC) activate giving trip output to motor circuit. The overload parameters are factory set and can be adjusted at site by trained person, with known weight on full-scale basis.
