Description: The microprocessor based Data Acquisition and Control System is designed to automate the measurement, display and data storage of a large number of process parameters points at user defined intervals of time. They are used for high speed, medium speed measurements, and for weather monitoring. They are used in several process plants for monitoring and controlling, engineering research, engineering education and training, electronic governors for hydro power turbines, computerization of load box for testing of diesel locomotives. The general configurations of these systems includes strain gauges bridges and transducers, strain gauge rosettes, AC LVDTs, DC, LVDTs ±300mV, ± 3V, ± 15 V signals, and thermocouples. The other configuration accepts thermocouples, RTDs, 4 to 20 mA, 0 to 20 mA, ± 300mV, ± 3V, ± 15V signals, and DC LVDTs. Systems for different applications can be configured using analogue and digital output modules for control applications, digital input modules for monitoring on-off status of motors, pumps and switches. The counter input modules to measure frequency, rotation speed and pulse or event counting. Some other features include channels, modular construction for configurability according to application requirement, built-in signal conditioning direct transducer connection, stand-alone and computer linked-up operation, mains-cum-battery operation for field units with local data storage and data retrieval facility and its capability to operate in rugged environment. These systems have software programmes like PROSof, AUTOmate, LOCOtest, and AUTOtest for computer linked-up operation.
