Rotary Cam Switches
Description: Rotary cam switches are hand operated, assembled on packet principle giving choice of multi-position and multipole circuits. Each packet houses two independent sets of double break type silver tipped butt contacts, ensuring effective making and breaking. Various types of cams are used to achieve desired contact sequence for making and breaking. These cam switches are manufactured in the range of 6Aand 10/440 VAC having switching angle of 30°, 45° 60° and 90° in case of stay put switches. Basically there are two modes of switches: STD switches - 12 operating positions and 4 poles, reversing with off, 3 position, 60° switching angle; and instrument selector switch - suitable for ammeters and voltmeters. The design enables to indicate by means of a single meter, the current or the voltages. Technical data: life-mechanical life is 1 million, electrical life depends upon the application; high voltage test - switches withstand 2.5 kV AC for one minute between phase and earth, and between terminals when the switch is in Off position; insulation resistance - 2000 MO; mounting-switches are available in front and as well as back panel mounting; temperature - the switches are recommended for use up to 55°C ambient temperature.
