Description: UltraSetter-fibrous lightweight ceramic firing setters and saggars from 1,200°C up to 1,700°C are offered. These form a new concept in the field of setters for sintering ceramic capacitors, other electrical and technical ceramic components, dental ceramics (zirconia parts) and PM (powder metallurgy industry) parts. This material, developed by using advanced (hightech) technology is mainly composed of alumina silicate short fibres and sintered at high temperatures. It has a maximum operational temperature of 1,700°C. It can stand up rapid heating and cooling cycles and has extremely fine and smooth surface. It has a very low heat capacity, an excellent flatness and small surface warpage. Depending on the forming method employed, many different product shapes can be manufactured. The lightweight UltraSetter is a unique product that allows excellent debinding of organic binders and shows high resistance to thermal shock and to spalling and also high dimensional accuracy. It is easy to machine and it meets the requirements for cost reduction through automation of firing process and time reduction by accelerating the de-binding process. In addition to the conventional flat board type, setters with supports, grooves and holes are available. As UltraSetter is light, it has only 25% to 30% of the weight of high density materials. This means less heating energy is required, and as the heating and cooling cycles are shortened, the sintering cycle is shortened as well, thus higher productivity is attained and cost kept low. The high permeability provides an excellent de-binding of supported goods. Because of its light density, the push rate can also be reduced giving excellent workability.
