Rotameters
A wide range of rotameters is offered by RR Flowmeters. These roatameters are used for water auditing, i.e., measuring the flow rate in pipes without causing any damage to them, with clamp-on type portable ultrasonic flow meters. It also measures the flow rate of water in canals or open conduits with proper flumes. Most rotameters/variable-area flow meters consist of a tapered tube containing a float. Fluid passing through the meter exerts an upward force on the float that is counterbalanced by the force of gravity. The point at which the float stays constant indicates the volumetric flow rate, which is often read on a scale on the meter tube. The tubes are made of metal, glass or plastic.
