End suction centrifugal pump is a general-purpose pump that is widely used for pumping a broad range of liquids. Seal may be flushed with clean liquid when corrosive or abrasive slurries are pumped. A simple end suction centrifugal pump with open impeller is used for handling both clean water and slurries. This pump is applied in water transfer, pressure boosting, cooling water, irrigation, dewatering, circulation and mixing water. They are capable of handling liquids from clean water to most hydrocarbons including solvents, chemicals and other liquids with similar properties.
End Suction Pump is a vertically split case pump with low cost. It requires only one seal assembly. The location of the suction or inlet is located axially, concentric with the impeller in end suction pumps. The impeller of an end suction pump is usually held onto the shaft by a nut or bolt located in the eye of the impeller. The impeller is furnished with a key way to ensure that it rotates with the shaft. Many end suction pumps are fitted with mechanical seals and not packing.
