Mica plate heater is applicable in high temperature environment. It is thinner than silicon plate heater. It is used in semiconductor wafer heater, medical equipment and military equipment applications. The operating temperature ranges from -50 to 250°C.

Mica powder is a pigment used in a binder like varnish or shellac to create metallic finishes. The advantage mica has over metal flakes is it's inability to tarnish. Mica powder in various forms is obtained by grinding/breaking mica scrap, which is a slow and extremely complicated process. It comes in variety of colors and shades.
