Nickel metal hydride batteries are type of rechargeable battery. It has a hydrogen-absorbing alloy for the anode instead of cadmium. The specific energy density for NiMH material is approximately 70 Wh/kg (250 kJ/kg), with a volumetric energy density of about 300 Wh/L. The applications of NiMH type batteries include hybrid vehicles and consumer electronics. Standard NiMH batteries perform better with moderate drain devices such as digital cameras, flashlights, and other consumer electronics.
