A flange is a component used to connect pipes. Pipes may be both, plastic or iron or it can be one plastic and one iron. Polyvinyl chloride or PVC is a widely used thermoplastic polymer which also been used for making flanges. In recent years, PVC flange has been replacing traditional flanges like iron and steel. There are many uses for PVC flanges because of its inexpensive nature and flexibility. These PVC flanges can be made softer and more flexible by the addition of plasticizers, the most widely used being phthalates. PVC flanges also help to replace the iron flanges used in water pipes and in pipes used in hazardous environment because of its inertness & strength.

PVC flexible cables are designed for use in homes, kitchen, and offices and in applications liable to moderate mechanical strain. It is also suitable for domestic appliance in damp conditions. These cables contain a flexible annealed bare copper conductor, and general purpose soft PVC insulation. It is also available for submersible pump motors, which are meant to withstand abrasion, prevent ingress of water along the inside of the cables and be resistant to acidic fluids and other chemicals.

PVC geomembranes are made from polyvinyl chloride resin, plasticizers, fillers, carbon black, and additives. It is used as liners for many waste containment applications, such as contaminated soils containment and liquid storage ponds. The advantages of PVC geomembranes include less expensive, and can be factory manufactured in a few large panels to meet specific project dimensional requirements. PVC geomembranes are easier to install since the panels can simply be solvent welded.
