Direct Reading Current Meters is a unique instrument, which provides ROV pilots with relative water velocity data in real time. It is a durable, reliable method of measuring current speeds in a wide variety of underwater vehicle applications. It is developed using proven industry standard sensors to meet the needs of oceanographers, hydrographers and surveyors who require an accurate current meter with flexibility of configuration & large memory capacity, which outputs data directly to a PC and used in both self recording & direct reading modes with a variety of cables.

Self Recording Current Meter is a self-contained instrument that is moored in the sea and records ocean current, water temperature & conductivity of the water. It is ideal for use by oceanographers, hydrographers and surveyors who require a solid state, multi-parameter current meter.

Current output modules convert digital ASCII data signals from a host computer to analog DC current output signals using an internal 12-bit digital to analog converter. The current signals can be used to control annunciators, actuators or other hardware that requires a control input signal. It contains higher-level functions for controlling output slew rates, communications watchdog timer, and user-programmable start-up value. 

Current sensors detect the flow of current along an electrical wire by measuring (or sensing) the magnetic field that is set up by the flow of electrical current. These sensors are external to the jacket of the AC power cable and there is no direct electrical connection between the sensor and AC power.
