Cathodic protection system is a well-established anti-corrosion method for protecting steel exposed to aggressive liquids and solids. This is commonly used to protect steel, water/fuel pipelines and storage tanks; steel pier piles, ships, offshore oil platforms and onshore oil well casings. A side effect of improperly performed cathodic protection may be production of molecular hydrogen, leading to its absorption in the protected metal and subsequent hydrogen embrittlement. Cathodic protection is an effective method of preventing stress corrosion cracking.

Cathodic Protection Test Station is a device, which includes a terminal board integrally formed with a base plate. A removable housing locks onto the base plate and covers the terminal board & the base plate. A tab formed in the base plate extends into a recess formed in the housing defining a locking position.

Cement accelerators are used to improve the properties of the cement slurry. Cement accelerators are added to promote rapid hardening of the material. Cement accelerators include calcium formate, calcium chloride and lithium carbonate. These components accelerate the set time of the cement-based adhesive.

Cement Additives are categorized as accelerators, retarders, fluid-loss additives, dispersants, extenders, weighting agents, lost-circulation additives and special additives designed for specific operating conditions. Cement additives are available in powder or liquid form. The applications include retardation, slag cement, water reduction, water repellency and water retention. Cement additives contain the notified chemical in concentrated (up to 31 %) aqueous solution.

Cement Retarders are used to control the setting of slurries. Cement retarders are used to increase the available pumping time for cement slurry. It is used to extend thickening time of the slurry to allow placement downhole.

Cement spacers are antibiotic impregnated, allowing for local dispersal of antibiotics. Cement spacers are fabricated in the surgical suite using methylmethacralate cement impregnated with antibiotics sensitive to cultured organisms. The cement spacers are inexpensive compared with metal augments.

Cementing Equipments are cementing heads, cementing manifolds, circulating heads, adapter/nipples, plug valves and batch mixers. This cementing manifold is an assembly of unions, plug valves, tee and nipples. Batch mixers come with a diesel driven hydraulic power pack and are fitted with variable speed controls to allow fine-tuning of the agitators & centrifugal pumps.

Cementing service is the analysis, design, and delivery of an engineered cementing system that can withstand the stresses that occur from various operations throughout the life of the well. Conventional cement job designs focus mainly on dynamic slurry properties and occasionally on the compressive strength and permeability. The cementing service, in addition to designing for effective cement slurry placement, utilizes advanced finite element method to analyze the casing, cement sheath, and surrounding formation to help determine the optimum mechanical properties that sealant needs in order to go the distance.
