Grooved Nipples is used mainly in plumbing and piping, which is used for connecting two fittings. Usually the two fittings will be connected by a nipple by threading but here the fittings will be connected by a locking system. The groove which is present at the end of the nipple will help to lock the nipples with the two fittings. There was another grooved nipple kind, which will have one end the usual grooved end and the other end which is a flange end. These nipples are made in PVC, iron and steel, where steel grooved nipples are the most commonly used. These nipples were used in the area were the fittings will not be disturbed frequently and in less maintenance work area.

Grooved rollers are ideal for use in round belt driven roller conveyors. These rollers are a modified version of standard rollers. It is used in line shaft driven accumulation conveyors and within systems using electrically driven powered rollers.
