ERW pipes are generally manufactured and used in smaller diameters up to 24 in. ERW is a single straight seam welding process where continuous coils of treated, low carbon steel, called skelp, are shaped into cylindrical pipes by edge-forming, and then welded at the seam. These pipes can be manufactured in lengths of up to 100 ft. These are used in water systems, natural gas and hydrocarbon, as well as pilling and other construction and industrial applications.
ERW Ultrasonic Test System offers an operator friendly approach to ultrasonic testing. ERW ultrasonic testing provides sensitivity to both O.D. and I.D. defects. The system is suitable for all carbon steel & most alloy steel tubing and configured for ERW or DSA weld testing, remote pulser with wide band preamplifier, double threshold alarm circuitry, analog outputs and pulse repetition rate up to 6kHZ.
