Expander Rings are used in the assembly of pistons for internal combustion engines. Expander rings are made of stainless steel & include vertical and/or horizontal corrugations. These expander rings are relatively flimsy and easily bendable out of a flat profile as compared to compression rings during the assembly operation into the respective piston grooves. Expander rings are from 4 mm to 1 mm in thickness. Expander rings are slotted to prevent any possibility of clogging.

Expander springs are used in piston rings. It consists of L and U-shaped cross section. It supports an oil scraper ring in a groove of a piston. It is constituted by a sheet metal ring, which has an axis and forms a U-shaped cross section.

Expanding Core Chucks are used for insertion into a roll core that includes a spindle mounted for rotation within a housing. These are used for light duty rewind and unwind applications. These chucks are available in lug and bladder design from 3″ to 12″ diameters.
