The brushless servomotor is designed to operate without brushes. In the brushless servomotor the load conductors can be placed on the stator and the permanent magnets, which need no external connections, on the rotor. The i2R losses are more easily removed from this stator than is possible from the rotor of the brushed machine. The winding are in the static armature, which is part of the stator, and therefore the rotor of a brushless servomotor can be considered to be the equivalent of the stator of a DC motor.
