Buffing Compounds are grease base or greaseless. Buffing compounds contain binder and an abrasive. Buffing compounds produces in either bar or liquid form and used on automatic systems. They consist of various minerals and animal greases or waxes & binders. Buffing compounds are most often purchased in cake or stick forms. Buffing compounds are removed by degreasing in solvents such as butyl cellosolve or tri-chloro ethylene. The buffing compounds are sprayed on to the buffing wheel either under gravity or by air pressure.

Buffing Lathes are used for roughing, polishing to prepare surfaces for final finish and buffing for removal of scratches or for imparting a high luster finish. They are available with single or variable speed and single or double spindle. The extra wide spindles will provide ample space to run virtually every type of product. Buffing wheels, contact wheels, abrasive flap wheels, & non-woven nylon deburring wheels up to 8 inches in width can be mounted on the new buffers leaving enough room for the nut and proper flanges.

Buffing tool is used for removing light to medium scale deposits or for finishing tubes previously roughed out with other cleaning tools. It can be used in straight ferrous and none ferrous tubes.

Buffing Wheels are made of discs of linen, cotton, broad cloth or canvas that are made firm by stitching to fasten the layers of cloth together. Buffing wheels used for very soft polishing or for polishing into interior corners have no stitching. Buffing wheels are more appropriate for sharpening carving tools.
