Drum drainers consist of a high volume draining screen and draining belt for final draining and the application of gentle pressure to present dry curt to the creamers. Curd and water is pumped into the drum drainer and runs across the high volume screen. The effectiveness of the drainer is controlled by the speed of the curd pump. Then the curd is gently squeezed as the draining belt runs the curd over a drum. The dry curd exits the drum drainer and drops into the creamer.
