Eddy Current Full Body Test System includes a probe head for scanning in a pre-determined direction and orientation over a surface of a body under test. Eddy current testing is an ideal technique for rapid detection of surface breaking flaws with a minimum of preparatory cleaning. Eddy current testing system enables an operator to distinguish between cracks and material changes such as changes in electrical resistivity or magnetic permeability or changes in lift-off or orientation of the probe head.

Electrical Resistance Probes are commonly used in petroleum, chemical processing and other environments where on-line corrosion rate readings are required. Electrical resistance probe is used in conductive systems as well as non-conductive environments such as oil, gas and atmosphere. Electrical resistance probes are available in a variety of configurations including wire loop, tube loop, flush-mount and cylindrical element. These probes use a sensing element that generates data as a function of resistance. Electrical resistance probes are generally based on measuring electrical conductivity between two metal probes in the soil.

Electrochemical Testing measures the corrosion potential, applying a reference electrode and a voltmeter with high internal resistance. Electrochemical testing makes use of a potentiostat. Electrochemical testing is not a reliable method for assessing long-term galvanic corrosion behavior of epoxy-metal couples in seawater but is effective in evaluating differences in corrosion resistance with varying cathode. The electrochemical testing consist of the generation of anodic polarization curves in an electrolyte of 10% calf serum and 90% isotonic saline at temperature of 37.0 ± 0.5 degree Celsius and a pH of 7.00 ± 0.05.

Environmental package testing services includes accelerated aging testing, shelf life studies, and thermal shock testing. Environmental testing involves exposing a package or product to controlled temperatures and humidity in order to reproduce the conditions that the package/product is expected to survive in its transportation, storage and operating life. After exposure, the package or product is assessed for damage. Packaging must be tested and validated for its ability to withstand the transportation, storage and operating environments that it will encounter. Environmental testing laboratory, performs testing services based on those environments that the packaging is expected to endure. In the military, aerospace & automotive industries, environmental package testing is considered as incorporating all kinds of stress that a packaged product might experience (including mechanical elements such as shock testing, vibration testing and operational stress) plus temperature and humidity.

Environmental stress cracking is the formation of cracks in a material caused by relatively low tensile stress and environmental conditions. It describes one of the most common causes of unexpected brittle failure of thermoplastic (especially amorphous) polymers known at present. It shows the exposure of polymers to liquid chemicals tends to accelerate the crazing process, initiating crazes at stresses that are much lower than the stress causing crazing in air. It is the premature initiation of cracking and embrittlement of a plastic due to the simultaneous action of stress and strain and contact with specific fluids that are present in a gaseous state. It provides the key to the problem of predictability, failure is due to a combination of influences.

Extensometer is a device that measures small changes in the length of an object. It is ideal fo stress-strain measurements. It increases the precision of the deformation measurements. The precision of measurements is increased on account of amplifying a small deformation by means of a system of levers. Ordinary scales are in fact a perfect extensometer. A small shift of about a few millimeters is transformed by a system of levers into a large swing of the scales pointer. The most perfect extensometers enable the measuring of the relative deformations of ~ 10-5 and amplify small signals by a factor of ~ (2/3) 103. Extensometer mainly falls into two categories such as contact and non-contact.

Falling Dart Impact Testers is intended for the determination of mechanical properties of packaging material such as plastic films, laminates and paper. It comprises a horizontal base-plate on which a vertical column of steel is erected and which on its top carries a release mechanism in which the falling dart can be inserted. It consists of a hemispherical part of aluminum with polished surface and a vertical shaft in the center of the flat top surface. It is used to specify appropriate materials for applications involving impact or to evaluate the effect of secondary finishing operations or other environmental factors on plastic impact properties. It has special lighting design, easy to observe micro-computer processes test results, intelligent test enhances test efficiency, pneumatic clamping and releasing decrease test time and errors.

Fatigue testing is used to determine how many load cycles a material can sustain or the failure load level for a given number of cycles. The results of fatigue testing vary dramatically depending on the material. For example, most steels and aluminum alloys behave very differently under fatigue. Steel typically has a fatigue threshold, which means that if it is tested at loads lower than the threshold, it will never break. Most aluminum alloys do not have a fatigue limit, so it is more difficult to judge when they will break. Even at a small load, most aluminum alloys will fail after a sufficient number of cycles. Plastics (polymers) are very sensitive to strain rate, or the speed of testing. Testing plastics at a higher rate will lead to different results than testing them at a low speed. Similarly, plastics are temperature sensitive, meaning that they behave very differently at high temperatures than at low temperatures. This testing is very common in the automotive and aerospace industries. This type of mechanical testing is performed using very simple sinusoidal load cycles, or may include very complex reproductions of actual service life load profiles. This testing gives much better data to predict the in-service life of materials.
