Its function is based on the principle that some gases are able to absorb infrared radiation to a greater degree. The three main analyzer components are infrared radiation source, a pair of gas-filled chambers and a detection system. The infrared radiation source contains a filter system that allows emission of radiation selected specially for carbon monoxide gas.
