Welded tubes are increasingly being chosen to replace seamless pipe. In many cases, they are superior, since the narrow tolerance of the base material assures a uniformity of wall thickness which is difficult to attain on seamless pipe without extensive finishing operations. They are available in materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, monel, hastelloy, inconel, and titanium. They are offered in diameters from ¼-11 5/8 in. with diametric dimensional tolerances to meet user specifications.
Welded Wire Assemblies are of significance in the assembly of wire products. The union of wire to wire or wire to sheet metal is affected in one of two general ways by fusion and pressure. Fusions welds welding equipment are made using filler metal without the application of pressure. Resistances are consummated under pressure without filler rod. Special jigs and fixtures hold the wire component parts in place during welding.
