Reforming catalyst consists of small amount of platinum and cadmium and chloride on an alumina support. Preferably the cadmium is in the amount of about 0.2% wt. Shift catalysts include conventional base metal high (FeCr) and low-temperature (CuZn) compositions. These catalysts are available as tablets or extrudates.

It may react with heavy metal ions such as copper, silver or lead to form metal azides which are very unstable, easily synthesized, and highly explosive. When pure, it is a white crystalline solid, odorless, and easily soluble in water. It is slightly soluble in ethanol and starts to decompose vigorously to sodium metal and nitrogen gas at approximately 300 °C. It is very toxic to the aquatic environment, and so the disposal of this substance should be carefully regulated. It should be destroyed by oxidation or reduction before being released to the environment.

Scale inhibitors are chemicals, which inhibit the nucleation and growth of hardness scale crystals. There are three main types of scale inhibitors in current use that include polyphosphates, phosphonates and organic polymers. Scale inhibitor is used for resorted to prevent the precipitation of inorganic salts, including barium/strontium/calcium sulfates, calcium/barium magnesium carbonates and calcium fluoride. Growth of crystals or the nucleation of crystals can be inhibited by the addition of scale inhibitors. It is used as inorganic mineral scale controller in sugar evaporators. Selective Catalytic Reduction process includes the addition of a gaseous or liquid reductant to the flue or exhaust gas stream and latter is absorbed onto a catalyst. The reductant reacts with NOx in the exhaust gas to form H2O and N2. Specialty catalytic converters are required to make an SCR system work, the current options being a vanadium-based catalyst, or a catalyst with zeolites in the washcoat. The performance of Fe- and Cu-exchanged zeolite urea-SCR is approximately equal to that of vanadium urea-SCR if the fraction of the NO2 is 20% to 50% of the total Nox. Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems inject ammonia into boiler flue gas and pass it through a catalyst bed where the ammonia and nitrogen oxide gas (NOx) react to form nitrogen and water vapor. Selective catalytic reducers are a post-combustion technology used in coal burning and petrochemical processing applications to reduce NOx emissions. Selective catalytic reducers (SCR) work in a manner similar to the way a catalytic converter works to reduce automobile emissions. A gaseous or liquid reductant (generally ammonia or urea) is added to the exhaust gases before they exit a smokestack. The mixed gases travel through several catalytic layers, causing a reaction between the NOx emissions and the ammonia injection.

Semi-Aqueous Cleaners are a group of cleaning solutions composed of natural or synthetic organic solvents, surfactants, rust inhibitors and other additives. The term semi-aqueous refers to the use of water in some part of the cleaning process, such as washing, rinsing, or both. In general, they have a good ability to remove heavy grease, waxes and tar. Their low surface tension allows them to penetrate small spaces. Some also have low vapor pressure and thus have low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. Depending on the type of cleaner, adverse effects will vary; some may be toxic to aquatic life, others are highly flammable or need rinsing and drying.

Semi-Aqueous Emulsion Cleaners contain non-chlorinated solvents along with emulsifiers and inhibitors. Since they contain non-volatile materials, a rinse is essential. Many semi-aqueous cleaners are flammable and some have worker exposure limits. Most semi-aqueous cleaners emulsify soils, dispersing them throughout the liquid; as the cleaner is used, the entire bath becomes saturated. Many of the citrus based cleaners are considered semi-aqueous.

Silica resistant catalysts are used for coker naphtha hydroprocessing. These catalysts have significantly high surface area per unit volume. It is intended for use where silica poisoning is severe. Some catalysts exhibit good olefin saturation activity and are well suited for use in low temperature guard reactors.

Silicate-Free Degreasers are used in spray wash systems. P3 Almeco AN is a silicate free degreaser, that contains highly effective wetting agents. The product will remove heavy deposits of grinding and polishing pastes from aluminum and other metals without affecting surface finish. The P3 Almeco CT is another silicate free degreaser, which contains highly effective wetting agents for use on aluminum and non-ferrous metals. The product will lightly etch aluminum and its alloys.
