The function of oil seals is to keep oil and other vital fluids from escaping around a rotating shaft. There are three basic oil seal designs; the fiber packing, the two-piece split lip design, and the one-piece radial design. An oil seal in the timing cover prevents oil from leaking around the crankshaft. The installation of this seal often requires the use of a special tool or a driver. It is important that the seal is positioned squarely in the bore of the timing cover and the crankshaft be positioned in the center of the seal.

A pinch valve sleeve is used for reducing the pressure of fluid flowing therethrough with or without actuation of the valve's pinching mechanism. The valve sleeve features an elongated hollow flexible resilient elastomeric sleeve body having an inner surface circumferentially bounding a flow-through passage and peripheral flanges at both ends suitable for attachment to a section of a pipeline or conduit system.

Plaster of Paris is a type of building material based on calcium sulfate hemihydrate. It is created by heating gypsum to about 150 °C. Plaster is used as a building material similar to mortar or cement. Like those materials plaster starts as a dry powder that is mixed with water to form a paste, which then hardens. Unlike mortar and cement, plaster remains quite soft after drying, and can be easily manipulated with metal tools or even sandpaper. These characteristics make plaster suitable for a finishing, rather than a load-bearing material.
